Provisioning for North Captiva Island

Make a Plan

There’s not a grocery store on the island, so pre-planning food during your vacation is essential! We suggest making a menu for your entire stay in advance. If you are a multi-family group, divide out dinner nights and determine how many nights you will eat out. Make a grocery list from the menu and you are good to go!

You should plan to place an online grocery order to pick up on your way to the ferry. If you’re using Pine Island Taxi be sure to tell them you will be making a stop to pick up your pre-ordered groceries on your way to the ferry.

We like to bring self-serve breakfast items that can be left out and simple lunch items that can be kept in the pool refrigerator and cupboards. We have plates and silverware at the pool, but you may want to bring paper plates, cups, and plastic silverware for easy cleanup after poolside lunches.

Place an Online Grocery Order

We recommend placing an online grocery order with the Publix at Coral Shores at 3015 SW Pine Island Road, Cape Coral, FL 33991 a few days before arrival.

Be sure to add a few Styrofoam Thermal Chests and bags of ice to your order to keep your perishable items cool on the ferry ride to North Captiva Island.  Publix will store your perishable items in their coolers and freezers until you arrive.

Publix stocks beer and wine and Friendly Frankie’s Liquor is right next door. Call Publix at (239) 282-5515 or Friendly Frankie's Liquor at (239) 283-6185 if you have any questions or need assistance.

Bringing Groceries from Home

If you’re driving you may want to purchase dry goods at home and bring soft-sided cooler bags with you to bring into the grocery store for your cold items.

Shipping to North Captiva Island isn’t recommended since package delivery is unreliable and doesn’t operate daily. You may want to bring an extra box on the plane as a more reliable alternative.

Fresh Fish Delivery

If you enjoy seafood contact Boats and Fun about fresh fish delivery. If you order by 4:00 PM your order will arrive the next morning. Call (800) 991-3259 or stop by Boats and Fun to place an order.
